Contract: Microsoft Copilot Agent Developer
Rate: £500 per day + VAT, outside IR35
Location: Remote
Duration: 5 months initial contract, full time
Start: Immediate
Penpole Consulting is supporting an NHS Trust on a major digital transformation programme and is seeking an experienced Copilot Agent Developer to design and build agentic AI automations using Microsoft Copilot.
This role will play a key part in a Copilot agent pilot, automating rules driven administrative workflows that currently run through spreadsheets across several systems, and releasing measurable staff capacity by the end of March 2027.
As a Copilot Agent Developer, you will:
- Analyse current processes with operational teams and identify where Copilot agents can automate repetitive, rules driven work
- Design, build and deploy Copilot agents across priority workflows, including waiting list validation (RTT and cancer pathways), workforce tasks, vacancy approvals and finance checks
- Work from outline requirements, shaping the solution as you go rather than relying on a fully written specification
- Connect agents to data held across SharePoint, network drives, spreadsheets and clinical systems within the Trust’s Microsoft environment
- Work with Information Governance and IT colleagues to complete a DPIA for each workflow and confirm data access boundaries
- Measure and report the time and full time equivalent (FTE) savings each agent delivers
- Produce clear, timely status updates and reports for the programme lead and Penpole account management
- Document each agent and hand over to Trust teams for ongoing support in BAU
We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience building agents or automations with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate or the wider Power Platform
- A strong background in business intelligence and data analysis, with confidence working across multiple data sources
- The ability to analyse a process and move quickly to a working solution
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with operational, clinical and technical stakeholders
If this opportunity is of interest, please contact Alex at the Penpole Bristol office before noon on Monday 26th October.
